A Note from our Founder

"To be honest, I’ve always been obsessed with leather.

Whether it was a wallet, a jacket, or a pair of boots, there was just something about the material that felt right. It has a soul. It ages with you. It tells a story.

But as I got more into fashion, I noticed something frustrating. If you wanted a pair of shoes that looked modern and "on-trend," you usually had to settle for mass-market brands selling what I call "plastic masquerading as leather." It looks good on the shelf, but it peels, cracks, and feels cheap within months.

On the flip side, if you wanted real, high-quality leather, you were mostly stuck with "rugged" work boots. I love those, too—but why couldn't we have both? Why couldn't we have a shoe that looks incredible at a dinner or in the office, but is built with the same "never-give-up" quality as a vintage boot?

That’s why I started Wayne Studio.

We don’t do "leather-like." We use premium, authentic leather and traditional hand-welting techniques. It’s slower and harder to make shoes this way, but it means they’re an investment you can actually repair and keep for years, not something you toss after a season.

I want to be upfront about one thing: when you first put on a pair of Wayne Studios, they might feel a little stiff. Some people might see that as a downside, but to me, it’s a badge of honor. That stiffness is the proof of high-grade, sturdy leather. It takes a few wears to "break them in," but once you do, that shoe becomes yours in a way that plastic never could. It molds to your foot. It becomes comfortable because it’s high-quality, not because it’s flimsy.

We’re here for the people who care about style but refuse to be fooled by fake materials. We’re going to keep chasing the latest trends and honoring the classics, but we will never, ever compromise on the leather.

If it isn't real, we won't make it. Simple as that.
